The Nerd Fountain

Nerd Fountain is not a first look-driven outlet, instead we are a podcast and blog that reviews and interviews designers, developers, and publishers from multiple industries to deliver both an inside perspective and a human touch from behind the closed doors that drive nerd culture. We also discuss mid-life dating, give advice, and answer emails. Shows range from The Nerd Fountain's main feed, which features specific discussion points, paired usually with a tabletop or video game review, followed by casual conversation. Other shows include Interviews and shows from the road between Jeffrey Norman Bourbeau and other collaborators.

Jeffrey Norman Bourbeau, Matt Fantastic, a sultry nameless guest and  other featured industry insiders who we swore to never name for fear of losing their jobs... are drunk out of their mind. We discuss topics and subjects beyond the comprehension or understanding of any nerd that has not already bathed within the pools of the Nerd Fountain. This episode is extremely explicit and discusses content of a highly adult nature.

Jeff stood up to interview Spencer Reeve, marketing executive from CoolMiniorNot, against a wall at PaxEast 2015. We discuss the games, the company, and the employees that aren't employees.

First we discuss Kaos Ball one of many in the Lang-verse of games that CoolMiniorNot has released. Eric Lang is a prominent game designer that has released many titles with the company and also does a podcast with Spencer. Wrath of Kings is discussed next where in Spencer details the "chain of command system," how the game uses d10's, and features a single roll resolution mechanic.

We also discuss the legacy of wargames in general and how their titles fit into this space.

Rivet Wars is briefly reviewed. We move on to discuss CMoN's Euro title Dogs of War.

Blood Rage, a recent success on kickstarter is covered next. Then we get personal and Jeff asks the tough questions such as "Who are you?" and "Why are you?" Spencer tells us about his career and how he got started in the industry.
